774 ABC Melbourne and Afternoons with RICHARD STUBBS presents Exhumed 2014 - we’re looking for more of the best bands you’ve never heard of. It’s not for has-beens, it’s not for wannabes, it’s for the never-weres. Exhumed is a band competition open to unsigned, unrecorded, unheard and until now, unwanted bands. Bands compete for the opportunity to win one of four spots on the Exhumed 2014 bill and will play alongside guest performer and judge on the night the iconic RUSSELL MORRIS. After a full house and packed dance-floor, popular demand has brought Melbourne's one and only Santana Tribute band back to the Saucer to perform a special ENCORE show in September. With a 7 piece line-up, Soul Sacrifice pays genuine tribute to the great music of Santana. For the band, it's all about the music and putting on a great show focusing on classic Santana (late 60's/70's with a splash of later stuff) covering Latin Rock, Latin Soul, Jazz and Rock genres. You will no doubt enjoy listening to the infectious grooves and rhythms of such classics as Black Magic Woman, Evil Ways, Oye Como Va & Smooth to name a few. UNMISSABLE!

Highly regarded and award winning Australian folk/blues singer Paul Wookey has put together a 2½ hour show that brings together the music of three of the giants of American folk rock: Bob Dylan, The Byrds and Crosby Stills Nash & Young. Paul and his band The Zimmermen will perform a set combining the best acoustic and electric songs from the Sydney, Melbourne and London shows of Bob Dylan’s famous 1966 world tour. This will be preceded by a track by track performance of ‘The Byrds Greatest Hits’ 1965-1970 and an acoustic set of the greatest hits of Crosby Stills Nash & Young.

It is with much excitement that Miriam launches her new album Birds of the Moon with Kate Adams (Naked without my Cello/ Tantrum Fantasy) and Lara Goodridge (Baby et Lulu/Four play) at The Flying Saucer Club. African influences blend seamlessly with blues-infused melodies and soaring vocal harmonies in the new album by Sydney singer song-writer Miriam Lieberman. All have done lots of television appearances plus live shows all around Australia and overseas and we can't wait to have them right here at the Flying Saucer Club. Kristina Olsen is one of the most entertaining and compelling performers on the international folk circuit. Her award-winning songwriting, big bluesy voice, hilarious storytelling and superb multi-instrumental playing (acoustic guitar, steel-body slide guitar, saxophone, concertina, mandolin and piano) make her shows a diverse and satisfying musical experience. Teamed up with Cello, mandocello and mandolin Player Peter Grayling, their latest cd "Chemistry" has taken Kristina's music in to wonderful new dimensions. UNMISSABLE.
