Soul Sacrifice - A Tribute to Santana

Melbourne's one and only Santana Tribute band are back to perform another show at The Saucer this May. With a 7 piece line-up, Soul Sacrifice pays genuine tribute to the great music of Santana. For the band, it's all about the music and putting on a great show focusing on classic Santana (late 60's/70's with a splash of later stuff) covering Latin Rock, Latin Soul, Jazz and Rock genres. The infectious grooves and rhythms of such classics as Black Magic Woman, Evil Ways, Oye Como Va & Smooth will have you dancing the night away.

Legendary ex Died Pretty frontman Ron S. Peno plays at The Saucer with his band The Superstitions this coming May. Ron S. Peno needs no introduction, he is a true Australian musical icon. His band The Superstitions are understated in approach yet have an erotically, smokey, darkened feel to their cinemascope, visionistic playing. Alyce Platt & The Fish Shop Collective

Following the successful launch of her stunning new album “Funny Little World” late last year, Alyce and her band, the “Fish-shop Collective” will be playing a special one-off show at the Saucer this May. Come see Alyce perform songs from her latest album which include 10 sultry, self-penned compositions as well as her take on classics 'Tar and Cement', 'Different Drum' and 'Pale Blue Eyes', recorded with the cream of the Melbourne music scene; Stephen Hadley, (Tex Perkins Dark Horses), Clare Moore (Coral Snakes), Jack Howard (Hunters and Collectors), Claude Carranza (Black Sorrows), Bruce Haymes (Paul Kelly) and Roger Bergodaz (Lost Ragas). The retro sounds, haunting melodies and frolicking beats that flavour her new album, reveal Alyce’s fascination with sophisticated 1960’s European pop music. Alyce’s Flying Saucer performance will be preceded by the “The Fish-shop Review” – showcasing the incredible diversity and talent of The Fish-shop Collective who will also join Alyce on stage afterwards. VulgarGrad, that mysterious band of Russian criminals, have returned to steal your hearts and wallets and anything else that's not nailed down. Fronted by Polish-born gravelly-voiced strongman and star of stage and screen, Jacek Koman – some say he’s a huge TV star in his native country – VulgarGrad are the only band in the country that play music by, for, and about Russian thieves: raucous drinking songs, melancholy waltzes, manic oompah and hot Soviet-era swing. The Flying Saucer Club are very excited to have The Badloves perform this coming June. The Badloves hit debut album “Get On Board” spent a massive 69 weeks in the charts, peaked at number 5 and went double platinum; delivering 5 hit singles in, ‘Lost’, ‘Memphis’, ‘I Remember’, ‘The Weight’ (w Jimmy Barnes), ‘Memphis’ and ‘Green Limousine’. On Friday 10th June, In celebration of the Rolling Stones’ 50+ year career, a star-studded local band featuring Nick Barker, Ashley Davies, Shane O’Mara, Justin Garner and Grant Cummerford are set to perform a selection of material from The Stone's golden age. Across two big sets the band will feature tracks, well known and some more obscure, from classic Stones albums including Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street, Goats Head Soup, It's Only Rock n Roll, Black & Blue and Some Girls.

Cheap Trick At Budokan - Encore Performance Presented by The Riff Raiders

On 9 April 2016 Cheap Trick were inducted in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. To celebrate this achievement the Flying Saucer Club is paying homage to this ground breaking rock n roll band with a special live performance of the album that started it all for them – AT BUDOKAN. Following their recent sell-out show at the Cherry Bar in April, Melbourne rock powerhouse The Riff Raiders have agreed to a special encore performance of the AT BUDOKAN album. The Raiders smash out this set with the fun, passion, skill and respect those songs deserve plus some extra Cheap Trick songs from that era (California Man, Southern Girls).

This Queen's birthday long weekend ARIA Hall-of-Famer Ross Wilson and his band The Peaceniks will rock the Flying Saucer Club all night long! To celebrate Ross' award winning 1989 solo album Dark Side Of The Man being recently released for the first time on iTunes, Spotify and other digital music platforms, you'll not only get to hear Eagle Rock, Come Back Again, Cool World, State of The Heart and Come Said The Boy from the Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock songbooks, but also tracks from Dark Side of The Man like the timeless Bed Of Nails along with plenty more classics from the extensive Ross Wilson songbook.
