‘Purple Goat Comedy’ features three of Australia’s best comedians; Simon Palomares (Wogs Out Of Work, Acropolis Now, Blue Heelers), Elliot Goblet (Hey Hey It's Saturday, Midday Show, NRL Footy Show) and Marty Fields (3AW presenter, Blue Heelers, Guys and Dolls musical). All have done lots of television appearances plus live shows all around Australia and overseas and we can't wait to have them right here at the Flying Saucer Club. Many guaranteed laughs...and that can’t be a bad thing.

After a brilliant performance earlier in September, we are pleased to announce a 2nd show in October for the charismatic front man Ron Peno, who returns to sing his favourite songs of his popular alt rock band Died Pretty (1983-2012) right here at the Flying Saucer Club. Kristina Olsen is one of the most entertaining and compelling performers on the international folk circuit. Her award-winning songwriting, big bluesy voice, hilarious storytelling and superb multi-instrumental playing (acoustic guitar, steel-body slide guitar, saxophone, concertina, mandolin and piano) make her shows a diverse and satisfying musical experience. Teamed up with Cello, mandocello and mandolin Player Peter Grayling, their latest cd "Chemistry" has taken Kristina's music in to wonderful new dimensions. UNMISSABLE.

In a production that’s been described as a “blues nightmare with a sexy mix of Latin, salsa and jazz”, Emotionworks Cut Opera present Bizet’s Carmen at the Flying Saucer Club this November. In the tradition of Cut Opera, award-winning director Julie Edwardson has fused the much-loved Carmen score with a mix of sensual, modern day music, providing a different angle to the standard sounds of opera. This revolutionary adaptation contains no boring bits, and that’s a promise!

The Hornets, described as “Melbourne’s best blues band,” featuring who’s who of Australia’s blues and roots music scene from the past four decades; including guitarist and Black Sorrow JEFF BURSTIN, Daddy Cool’s WAYNE DUNCAN, Paul Kelly and Renee Geyer’s keyboardist BRUCE HAYMES and ANDREW OGBURN from Chris Wilson also on keys, plus the Bad Love’s drummer CHRIS TABONE, and featuring special guest PAUL WILLIAMSON on saxaphone and singer songwriter CRAIG HORNE. Following The Hornets sold out launch of the CD at the Caravan Club in July, this show should not be missed- so book early to avoid disappointment.
