Cash-Savage-&-The-Last-Drinks

Cash Savage & The Last Drinks are returning to The Saucer this July for what will be another impressive show. Since the delivery of their debut album Wolf (2011), Cash Savage and her band The Last Drinks have covered a lot of ground – personally, metaphorically and geographically. Having spent the gulf between albums on the road – taking in country theatres, time-honoured urban venues, as well as the Famous Speigeltent, Meredith Music Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival and the willow-shrouded Riverboats Music Festival alongside Pete Murray, Clare Bowditch, Archie Roach and James Reyne — the once fluid Last Drinks line up has successfully solidified. They return with their new album, “The Hypnotiser” with Japanese-born Nao Anzai, and Nick Finch on board as producer. Backed by a solid and well-oiled band, Cash shared the reins for album number two. She handed songs to her trusty troupe and the album took shape collaboratively. The result is the sum of drunken kinship polished with hard yards, while retaining the soul for which Cash is renowned. Luke Sinclair ( Raised By Eagles) will be the support act on the night. A must see!

The anticipated record will prove an incredible suite of stories: a family forced to give up a farm they love, but can’t keep; loveless marriages, messy breakups and the hypnotic pull of unexpected attraction; the death of a beloved companion; and the dangerous meeting of an unsuspecting Samaritan and a hitchhiking arsonist.

But the true Cash Savage experience takes place on the stage, where the singer thrives on her audience, affecting crowds from country and city alike with a tonic of honesty, sincerity and raw emotion.

LUKE SINCLAIR (Raised By Eagles)

“Raised By Eagles fronted by chief songwriter Luke Sinclair have delivered two of the finest alt-country albums you’ll find in many, many miles… in the great tradition of long-established bands like Wilco, but in a fraction of the time.” – Martin Boulton, The Age.

“Raised By Eagles’ songs are the kind you fall in love with at the first listen and then endlessly trawl bars and venues across Melbourne to be near again. This is no crush. This is a great, enduring romance”  Liz Stringer, musician.
