Sunday 14 December

“Cheers-&-Beers-for-Christmas”-with-Jack-Howard-&-The-Long-Lost-Brothers-+-Fiona-&-Her-Holy-Men

Fiona & Her Holy Men return to the Flying Saucer Club, teaming up with Jack Howard’s Long Lost Brothers to bring entertainment blessings for Christmas 2014. Fiona’s performance will be hot on the heels of her scorching double A side single from Rocktober: To Be The Woman/Leading You On. Special treats for the afternoon include a joining of the bands to serenade and lead the congregation in original versions of favourite Christmas Carols and an appearance by at least one “Bad Santa”. Dress up, rollup, tune in, turn on, feel free to dance and speak in tongues!!!!

Fiona Lee Maynard is one of the most vibrant and passionate performers around. Together with her Holy Men, James Lomas on guitar and Billy Pommer Jnr on drums, they’ve recorded a terrific new CD, and every time they perform, they leave nothing in the dressing room.

Have you been blessed lately?

Musical Missionaries Fiona Lee Maynard & Her Holy Men are determined to entertain;
“Deadly serious musicians with their tongues firmly planted in their cheek”.
When the spirit moves you – feel free to dance & speak in tongues!!!

Few bands can claim to be only one year old, yet have over 100 years of collective music experience! Revelling in new musical faith, Fiona Lee Maynard & Her Holy Men can make that claim, with a genealogy including The Johnny’s, Have A Nice Day, In Vivo & UNAustralians from territories including QLD, Sydney, Melbourne & Los Angeles.

HAVING SPENT THE PAST 18 MONTHS KNOWN AS:
FIONA LEE MAYNARD & HER HOLY MEN,
THE BAND DECIDED TO ABBREVIATE THE NAME TO : FIONA & HER HOLY MEN
HENCEFORTH THEY SHALL BE KNOWN AS : “FIONA & HER HOLY MEN.”….. AMEN.

Jack Howard has been described as “one of the great quiet achievers of Australian music.” This year he’s made some noise though – touring with his old band, Hunters and Collectors and supporting Bruce Springsteen AND The Rolling Stones; releasing his own brilliant new CD, Day Of The Dog; and, as usual, performing and recording with a host of artists including Something For Kate, Charles Jenkins, Van Walker, The Break, Fiona Lee, Burn In Hell and The Bittersweet Kicks. His band is stellar – Mark Ferrie on bass, Ed Bates on pedal steel, Nick Del Rey on guitar and Cal McAlpine on the drums.
