The Badloves

The Flying Saucer Club are very excited to have The Badloves perform this coming June. The Badloves hit debut album “Get On Board” spent a massive 69 weeks in the charts, peaked at number 5 and went double platinum; delivering 5 hit singles in, ‘Lost’, ‘Memphis’, ‘I Remember’, ‘The Weight’ (w Jimmy Barnes), ‘Memphis’ and ‘Green Limousine’. After extensive tours in Australia and Europe, The Badloves released their second album in 1995, ‘Holy Roadside’ to critical acclaim, further ARIA nominations, and another string of hit singles in “Slave”, ‘Barefoot Bride’, ‘Living Thing’ and ‘Caroline’, establishing them as one of this country’s premier acts. Supporting The Badloves on the night will be Melbourne singer and songwriter, Bill Tolson.

The Badloves both continue and extend the grand tradition of such music, pushing out a sound that would have seemed quite at home at Muscle Shoals in 1967, while remaining as fresh and original as tomorrow. They are already a part of Australian music history having become a household name and influencing a generation of musicians and music lovers. Inspired by the past, The Badloves are a band that’s very much focused on the future… ‘It feels like we’re starting again’, Michael smiles. ‘Which is very exciting’.

Supporting The Badloves on the night is Bill Tolson. A Melbourne based singer song writer, Bill has been compared to Paul Kelly in regard to his story telling songs and vocally to George Harrison or Paul McCartney, maybe to do with Bill’s father being from Northern England.

In the late 70’s Bill founded Greville records in Prahran, In the 80’s Bill was in a band called as Clear as Day which released one single on his Rampant Records Label which helped develop and released many independent Melbourne artists.

In 2015, Bill decided to seriously pursue his love of music and writing and released 3 CD’s between October 2015 and Feb 2016.
