The Flying Saucer Club welcomes to its stage this October The Belfast Cowboys, featuring Joe Creighton, Gallie and Andy White.
The name, Belfast Cowboys sums up the rebellious free-spirited character of these three outstanding Melbourne-based Irish songwriters. They have joined forces to deliver a soulful, mystical and lyrical show featuring songs from their extensive catalogues and personal tales encompassing the music scene in Ireland from the 60s to the present day.
Singer and bassist Joe Creighton grew up in Belfast during the 60s under the backdrop of the civil rights movement, riots, religious and social unrest remarkable times with strong influences all captured on his four solo albums. Joe’s music encompasses many styles from roots, soul, and gospel to Celtic, ambient and deep groove.
Indelible character and emotion transposed to a particular generation of songwriters at the hands of a 70s Dublin childhood and has never been better felt than in the songs of Irish born singer-songwriter Gallie. His original songs contribute his own colour to a significantly rich canvas that echo the influence of his Irish forefathers.
Belfast born and raised, Andy White has earned a global following for blending folk and pop stylings with a poets sensibility. A published author and 21st Century Troubadour, he has won Irelands top song writing awards, worked with the great names of Irish music and toured the world many times with his eleven studio albums.
With over 16 original albums between them, these authentic Irish songwriters and poets come together to share tales and music as only true Irishmen can.
