Friday February 14th sees the pairing of 6 of Melbourne’s best musos into their special couples for one night only of duo romanticism at The Flying Saucer Club. The night features THE GRAPES (Sherry Rich & Ashley Naylor). The Port Fairy Folk Festival Performer of the year SUZANNAH ESPIE & IAN COLLARD & SOFT GOLD (Sarah Carroll and Marcel Borrack). Unmissable!

The Grapes are Sherry Rich & Ashley Naylor.  Known for their projects individually (Sherry Rich & The New Folk Heores & Even), The Grapes returned in 2013 with their long over due second album ‘Western Sun’, which has been critically acclaimed Australia wide.  With such busy schedules, The Grapes will headline this great bill.

Suzannah Espie & Ian Collard have forged a musical reputation unlike many others in the roots scene –  Suzannah was in GIT and more recently has forged a solo career with 3 successful albums.  Ian  is world renowned for his work with Collard,Greens & Gravy and most recently with The Three Kings.  This special set will see them doing each others songs in duo mode – not to be missed!

Soft Gold (Sarah Carroll and Marcel Borrack) recently recorded a collection of their original songs in an acoustic setting at Chris Parkinson’s (The Yearlings) home studio in SA; highlighting their lyrical skills and the gorgeous interplay of two voices and guitars, the title of the album, SOFT GOLD, says it all.  The songs are sweet, biting and wry; they deal with heartaches, dreams and politics, and feature Marcel’s superb guitar playing, Sarah’s faultless rhythms, and the kind of harmony singing that leaves their audiences breathless.
